Depth Recordings came to be in late 2003 as an outlet for Brandon Plank and Eric Bernal to put out their own material, but also because they believed the future of music was in digital form. Unlike many other digital-only labels that charge for their music, Depth remained a free ‘Netlabel’, catering to a wide audience of DJs and music collectors alike. However, free doesn’t mean crap music; in addition to finding new artists, Depth has released music from some of the world’s most famous house and techno artists. With over 150,000 release downloads
since 2004, the proof is in the download.
Depth Recordings is the very definition of ‘green’; we’re all digital, so there are no CDs, vinyl or even paperwork to pollute the environment! Our website is hosted at OVH in Canada, which has been industry leaders in ‘green solutions’ since 2003 and Google Cloud in Iowa, which is carbon-neutral, so we believe we’re offering the best to the public, with the least impact possible on the planet.
Now it’s time for the legal shit…
We use Google’s Cloud Storage platform for content delivery, so our releases download FAST. How fast? Well it will vary by geographic location, but here’s a screenshot from 7/26/2015:
